What does your Gift Provide?
The Hospice Foundation for Jefferson Healthcare provided $67,560. in funds to support patient and family services and programs provided by the Hospice of Jefferson Healthcare in 2016.
Additionally, the Palliative Care Service for Jefferson Health Care received $20,000. for start-up costs from the Hospice Foundation in 2016, to ensure that all patients facing life-threatening and end of life issues receive interdisciplinary care by a team of healthcare professionals at all stages of life.
- Bereavement and Grief: ongoing financial support for a comprehensive Bereavement program, offering both Hospice families and our community with bi-weekly and monthly Grief Support groups, workshops and the Annual Community Memorial Service each fall.
- Respite Care: In-Home Respite program provides skilled caregiver support and services when needs are critical.
- Alternative Therapies: Massage, Reiki, Acupuncture and Music Therapy are offered to each patient, increasing comfort and reducing pain.
- Patient care kits are supplied to those families who lack essentials to provide care.
Volunteer services: In 2016, the Hospice Foundation increased their commitment to volunteers, as the “heart of hospice”, by funding a Volunteer Coordinator staff position which is dedicated to the support of the hospice volunteers who provide over 1700 hours annually in patient and caregiver services.
